MIEC will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day on March 17, which is an annual holiday that celebrates everything Irish!
Irish people wear Green on St. Patrick’s Day because Ireland is nicknamed the “Emerald Isle” due to its lush, green landscape.
It is a time of celebration in Ireland and for all those of Irish descent and affinity around the world. In a significant gesture of Chinese friendship towards the Irish people, permission was given to green the following iconic landmarks and sites in China for St. Patrick Day 2021:

• The Peninsula, Beijing
• The Clock Tower, Hong Kong
• The Peninsula, Hong Kong
• Ruins of St Paul’s, Macau
• East China University of Technology, Nanchang
• The Peninsula, Shanghai
• University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai
• Suzhou Ancient Grand Canal, Suzhou
