Tribute Event for Michael Heffernan and Noreen Bermingham
Education Department, Maynooth University, 7th February, 2014

The Education Department hosted a Farewell Tribute Event last Friday 7th February for colleagues of long standing; Ms Noreen Bermingham and Br. Michael Heffernan.
Noreen and Michael have been teaching on the Postgraduate Diploma in School Guidance and Counselling since it was first instituted in 1996 and Michael on the Master of Education in SGC since 2004. Both played critical roles in the ongoing design and delivery of the programme/s and consequently in shaping Guidance Counsellor Education nationally. For their deep commitment to the education and wellbeing of young people, their generous giving of their time and expertise and their enduring friendship and collegiality, the Staff of the Education Department  paid tribute to two outstanding colleagues. They are both fondly remembered by graduates; Michael most likely for his inspiring inputs on theorists such as Frankl, Rogers, Ellis and Beck and Noreen for animating the dense work of Super and Holland with erudition and facility.
