Youth Public Participation and International Humanitarianism in the Age of Globalization

The Conference entitled 'Youth Public Participation and International Humanitarianism in the Age of Globalization' was recently attended by second year Chinese Studies student, Terence Heeney in Taiwan
The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan) and the National Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (Taiwan)
More than 200 participants from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Thailand, Israel and Ireland took part in the event. 
Terence is the team leader of the Irish delegation and he presented on behalf of the Irish delegation.

The presentation was entitled 'Charity begins at Home' and the main points were to:

  • Promote career counselling for  youth and enhance their employability.
  • Encourage young people to participate in Volunteer services and their involvement in public affairs.
  • Reinforce diverse learning for the youth and expand their international vision.
