Virtual Research Environment Project: Student Testimonial
Meadhbh Healy has undertaken a research project over the summer months in digital humanities. The object of the project was to create a virtual research environment, allowing users to access data from a number of historic datasets.

Clericus Project: Student Testimonial
Bejamin Guilfoyle worked over the summer on the Clericus Project at the Arts and Humanities Institute, Maynooth University. His testimonial about his experiences working with a humanities project, coming from a STEM background are an example of the type of interdisciplinary relationships fostered within the institute.

Funded PhD Studentship on the Irish Research Council’s MACMORRIS Project
The MACMORRIS Project seeks to recruit a well-qualified applicant interested in undertaking a research degree at PhD level in a way that complements the project’s objective of producing a more inclusive account of early modern Ireland. The PhD candidate will be hosted by the Arts and Humanities Institute and the Department of English.

This lecture explores how we might recapture the full complexity of Renaissance Ireland. It introduces the MACMORRIS project, a four-year project funded by the Irish Research Council, which will map all the cultural players, working across cultures and languages, in the years when Ireland made its convulsive entry into modernity.

Dr Catherine Leen named MU Fulbright Alumni Ambassador
Dr Leen received a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct research at the Chicana/o Studies Centre at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008. Her current teaching and research interests centre on Mexican and Chicana/o literature and cinema, as well as Argentine and Paraguayan literature and visual cultures. Dr Leen takes up the mantle from Sinéad Murnane who has served as Ambassador at MU for the last two years and contributed greatly to enhanced engagement on campus.’
