Professor Tobias Lock delivered a training session on the scope of application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights for the Academy of European Law (ERA). The training was held for judges from all over the European Union who have the function of 'court coordinators' within their domestic courts. Court coordinators are national judges specialised in EU law. Their task is to facilitate the work of their colleagues in national courts to understand and apply EU law better when they come across a challenging case. The training focused on the difficulties in deciding whether the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights applies in a given case.
