Maynooth Law students participated in an international online debate in the context of the Conference on the Future of Europe. The debate brought together students form Ireland and the Netherlands and allowed them to discuss the main themes of the Conference on the Future of Europe, such as climate change, the EU in the world, education, social and economic policy. The debate was hosted by the European Parliament offices in Ireland and the Netherlands and on the Maynooth-side co-organised by the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law and Fundamental Rights, Prof Tobias Lock.

Professor Tobias Lock gave a presentation on "Future participation in the single market: Prospects for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales", in which he argued that in the absence of independence for Scotland (or Wales) there was no realistic prospect for Scotland's or Wales' future participation in the EU single market.
