Dr Ciarán Ó Gallchóir

Biography
Ciarán is an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Education at Maynooth University, with a focus on initial teacher education, educational leadership, and public policy. His research explores the interplay between identity and policy in educational settings, examining how this relationship is reflected - both subtly and explicitly - in everyday practices. He has led or contributed to a number of broader research initiatives, including the Higher Education Authority-funded (HEA) PATH programme (supporting the recruitment and experience of marginalised groups in ITE), the Erasmus+ SUP4PCL project (supporting School-University Partnerships in Egypt), and the NCCA-funded Evaluation of Junior Cycle Implementation.
Ciarán teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Department of Education and is currently programme lead for the full-time and part-time Masters of Education.
