“En-Gendering Monodrama: Artistic Research and Experimental Production”: A Research Report

Abstract

The talk will be a final report on work undertaken during my two-year IRC funded research fellowship "En-Gendering Monodrama: Artistic Research and Experimental Production" hosted at Maynooth University. In the introductory part of the talk I will illustrate the main trajectories of the project and its completed outputs, with a view into future productions and publications. In the second half of my presentation, I will describe collaborative creative work led in conjunction with the Music Tech course on Morton Feldman's and Samuel Beckett's opera Neither. The talk will conclude with the first Maynooth University screening of our short-opera-film Neither (I nor Not I) [duration: 11’13’’ ca], the second and final output of the project, recently awarded a Kildare County Council short-film short-grass award.
