This year, after being approached by the Maynooth University International Office, Tourism Ireland have agreed to run a joint promotional campaign whereby Maynooth University would encourage all North American partner universities to participate in the 'Global Greening Campaign' for St Patrick's Day. Partner universities can enter the competition if they either host an Irish themed event on campus or turn a campus building green for the festivities.

As part of the prize for winning universities, Tourism Ireland are covering the costs of 4 return flights which will be accompanied by a program fee waiver from Maynooth University for this years International Summer School which can be used by a nominated student of a partner university.

The winners will be selected at random from the host of universities that take part in this years Global Greening Campaign for St. Patrick's Day.

To date the International Office are delighted to announce that 17 different universities across the US and Canada have agreed to organise Irish themed events during the week of St Patrick's Day with Maynooth at the heart of all those events.

Also, thanks to the support of the MU Campus Services team Maynooth itself will be turning two buildings green this year as Eolas on the North Campus will also ‘go green’ in addition to the church steeple on South Campus!
