International Office welcomes High School Counsellors from the United States to campus

Friday, March 6, 2020 - 15:00

The International Office welcomed 17 High School Counsellors from the United States and the Regional Director of North America for Education in Ireland for a tour of Maynooth University. The counsellors represented states from California on the West Coast to Massachusetts on the East Coast. These counsellors advise US students on college options for full undergraduate degrees. The group were welcomed by Claire Doran, Director of Internationalisation, before setting off on a tour of Maynooth University.

The counsellors visited the Russell Library and the Chapel on South Campus, before meeting with the School of Business and the Department of Design Innovation. The visit culminated with a talk by John McGinnity, Assistant Registrar. To wrap up a very busy day, the counsellors then had the opportunity to meet current US students and enquire about the Maynooth University student experience. We thoroughly enjoyed having the counsellors visit the campus and we look forward to broadening our visibility in the US market.
