International Education Conferences in September 2018

The International Office attended two key International Education conferences last month. Claire Doran (Director) and Alison Cooke (International Officer) attended the EAIE Conference in Geneva from September 9th to 12th, where they met with existing and potential university partners from all around the world, from various European countries to US, South America and Japan. The event is a great opportunity to meet numerous partners in the one location and to get up to date with trends in International Education. They attended various training events such as the below:

  • The Secrets of CRM Success: How to implement an effective CRM system to manage student enrolment
  • Innovations in Career Service Delivery- International Perspectives
  • Smart Use of Indicators and Data in International Education
  • Critical Elements and Common Success Factors for Strategic Partnerships
  • Intercultural Development Training
  • Erasmus Without Paper 

The following week Jodi Killackey (International Officer) attended the NACAC conference in Utah, USA from September 27th to 29th. This conference brings high school counsellors from all over the US together with potential universities for their students who wish go on to study at third level. Jodi met with numerous high school and college counsellors and directors there and discussed routes to attracting additional North American students to MU’s undergraduate degree programmes. Jodi represented MU at the Education in Ireland Breakfast networking event, where 90 invited attendees were welcomed by the Consul General from San Francisco, Robert O’Driscoll.
