The MU International Office is the first point of contact for international students applying for full-degree, Erasmus, Study Abroad, and Summer School programmes, and supports MU students who wish to study abroad.
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FORMS TO STUDY ABROAD IN 2024-2025 ARE NOW CLOSED. LATE SUBMISSIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
In you are interested in studying abroad in 2025-2026 the Expression of Interest Form will be available on the website in NOVEMBER 2024.
You can submit an Expression of Interest Form for both the Erasmus + Programme(EU) and the Study Abroad Programme(Non EU).
You can choose up to five partner universities for each programme in order of preference. Take time to carefully consider and review your options before submitting the Expression of Interest Form as it cannot be amended after submission.
Expressions of Interest are reviewed after the deadline and not on a first come first served basis.
The International Office will email you in January/February to follow up on your submission.
The International Office allocates places based on first year results, suitability of subjects/ choices and advice from your academic department.
Due to the high demand for places, we cannot guarantee that you will get any of your choices, but you may be offered alternative destinations if available.
If you have been allocated a place, the International Office will email you and you will be asked to confirm that you wish to proceed with the nomination.
The International Office submits your nomination to the partner university by their nomination deadline usually from March to May.
The host university will email you with information on how to complete their application and what documents are required.
Read the Insurance Information for Outgoing Exchange Students which details Maynooth Universities insurance requirement and guidance on searching for a policy as you may be asked for your insurance policy information when applying to the host university.
Complete the application carefully, attaching any documents required well in advance of the deadline.
Provided that a complete application was submitted by the deadline, you should receive official confirmation from the host university of your acceptance after the deadline.
Contact the International Office if you do not hear from your host university by the end of June and remember to regulary check your MU email for important information.
