The Arqus Alliance invites teachers to participate in a series of online workshops aimed at supporting this community in promoting innovative teaching approaches for more effective and engaged student learning in multiple contexts, in and outside the classroom. The first round of workshops took place online from 18th September to 30th November 2023. The second edition is being held in February 2024.
The Arqus Career Week is a 5-day programme intended to support PhD and postdoctoral researchers in their exploration and pursuit of career paths beyond university research. The programme offers talks and workshops, led by a group of career experts from international backgrounds, to help participants recognize their labour market skills and give insight into application and hiring processes as well as company cultures outside of academia. The 4th edition of the Arqus Career Week will take place at the University of Wrocław, Poland, from 10th to 14th June 2024. Applications are possible until 25th February 2024 at 23:59 CET
Arqus opens the call for expressions of interest to constitute formal Communities of Practice within the Arqus Alliance, either from pre-existing or entirely new groups of professionals. This call for expressions of interest is intended to be open on a permanent basis, although first results will be made public by the beginning of April 2023. To that end, proposals are requested until 17th March, on the form available below.
Closing applications are being accepted for the second edition of the Arqus Joint Master’s Programme in European Studies, starting in October 2024. The Arqus Joint Master’s Programme in European Studies is a full-time master’s programme which can be completed over 2 years with a total of 120 ECTS credits. It brings together the expertise and academic excellence of four Arqus universities (Granada, Graz, Leipzig and Vilnius) and is offered entirely in English. Applications are possible until the 15th March 2024.
Closing applications are being accepted for a new Arqus Joint Master’s Programme in International Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence. The joint programme brings together the expertise and academic excellence of four Arqus universities (Universities of Granada, Minho, Padua and Vilnius) and is offered entirely in English. Applications are possible until the 15th March 2024.
Arqus invites academics and students to participate and collaborate in the co-creation and implementation of the initiative “Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Mentoring Programme – Turning Ideas into Businesses”. The BIP is a b-learning activity that will have an online phase from 15th April to 5th July with weekly synchronous and asynchronous sessions and an on-site part from 24th to 28th June in the city of Guimarães (Portugal). The application period is open from 18th to 22nd March 2024.
The call for the Arqus summer school on active learning 2024 is now open for teachers, lecturers and instructors of all member universities. This year’s topic is “Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education”. The event will take place from the 17th to the 19th September 2024 in the ancient monastery, and now Hotel Terme San Marco – Monteortone, Abano Terme, just outside Padua (Italy). Applications are possible until the 31st March 2024.
The Arqus Alliance is thrilled to announce the launch of the third Arqus Teaching Excellence Award, a testament to our commitment to celebrating and promoting outstanding achievements in university teaching. This prestigious award seeks to recognize educators who exemplify innovation and excellence in their pedagogical practices, fostering a culture of learning that transcends disciplinary boundaries and empowers students from diverse backgrounds to thrive in inclusive, community based and dynamic learning environments. This seminar series, organised and facilitated by Maynooth University, invites researchers and practitioners across Arqus Alliance universities, who are already engaging or have just started the process of engagement with English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) in their institutions. The series is seen as an interactive and supportive forum for practitioners and researchers to engage in regular dialogue to exchange experiences of EMI and become familiar with ongoing research in the field, with a view to improving practices and engagement with EMI across the Alliance. Applications are possible until the 14th March 2024.
