The following Maynooth University sports scholarships may be awarded:
Scholarship funding assists undergraduate or postgraduate students with sports and university-related expenses (e.g. sporting equipment, travel costs associated with sport) and aims to free up time from part-time work commitments.

Entrance Scholarship 2022
The €1,000 Entrance Scholarship is automatically awarded to incoming first year students, via the CAO, who have obtained 575 points or more in the Leaving Certificate (from six subjects in one sitting). For students presenting GCE A Levels the awards are based on achieving points from three/four subjects in GCE A levels.
Entrance Scholars have the option of residing on campus (normal charges apply). Entrance scholars who have not already booked their campus accommodation, will be offered campus accommodation during CAO Round 1 offers. Unfortunately, the University is not in a position to offer accommodation places in Round 2 or subsequently to Entrance Scholars, as they are fully booked in Round 1 annually.
The Ernest Walton STEM Bursary is available for at least 8 students from DEIS schools. Each candidate must submit a completed application form and attach evidence from the CAO that they have applied for a STEM course as their first choice

The Professor William C Campbell Bursary Scheme is available to a student from a DEIS school based on Leaving Certificate examination results who intends to complete a third level course in the Medicine, Zoology, Physiology or Bio-Medical Science fields.

Entrance Scholarship for MH103 Bachelor of Music
The Entrance Scholarship for one entrant to MH103 Music is awarded in September. The top scoring applicant, based on the MH103 online video audition, is offered the scholarship of €1,000. The successful applicant will be informed when they receive their offer for MH103 through the CAO.
The Head of the Maynooth University Music Department awards one undergraduate music scholar each year. This scholarship is for current Music students and is based on their year end results. At present no scholarship is available from the Music Department for prospective Music students. For details apply to the Professor of Music.

The MU Undergraduate Scholarship for Students with Disabilities, which is for studies leading to an undergraduate degree, is valued at a maximum of €2,000 for the academic year. The Gerard Byrne Bursary consists of two annual grants for two undergraduate students with confirmed visual impairment or blindness, studying on a full-time basis at a recognised educational institution in the Republic of Ireland. Maynooth University is an eligible institution recognised by this bursary.
