SPUR and STEP Success in 2016

The Law Department had a successful year with both the SPUR (Summer Programme for Undergraduate Research) and STEP (Student Training Exchange Programme) programmes.

On the STEP programme we had  Belén Hernandez Laserna from Spain, who worked with Professor Michael Doherty. Belén assisted Professor Doherty with his research on employment law. Ellyn Xylander from Norway worked with Dr David Doyle. Ellyn assisted Dr Doyle in his research on prisoner’s rights and criminology.

On the SPUR programme we had Daniel O’Dowd and Hayley Egan, students at Maynooth University, Department of Law. Daniel assisted Dr Fergus Ryan on a research project on Challenging the Gender Binary: The Legal Relevance of Gender. Hayley assisted Dr John Reynolds on a research project on States of Emergency and International Law.
