Shane Gough BCL wins the Walls and Toomey Solicitors Family Law Prize

This year’s winner of the Walls and Toomey Solicitors Family Law Prize is Mr Shane Gough, from Dublin.   Now in its fourth year, the prize is given to the student with the highest annual mark in the Family Law module offered by the Department of Law at Maynooth University. Top Dublin family law firm Walls and Toomey, headed by partners Ms Muriel Walls and Mr Grahame Toomey, very kindly sponsors the prize.
 
Having successfully completed the Bachelor of Civil Law in Law and Politics with first class honours, Shane graduated from Maynooth University last Friday 13th September. He attained first place in a class of over 210 Family Law students, a class taught by Dr Fergus Ryan, associate professor in law at Maynooth University. Shane is a former President of the Politics and Sociology Society at Maynooth University. For nearly 15 years, he has run a successful legal publishing services business. He has previously earned prizes for Best Student in Law, Best Criminal Law Essay, and Best Exam Performance in Politics in both first and second year.
