Last Thursday, the Careers and Employability Service hosted the Summer Programme for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) Orientation day and kicked-off the 2025 programme.
This summer 45 Maynooth University undergraduate students will work with academic mentors on 41 research projects across 17 Departments and 3 Research Institutes. The SPUR Programme offers MU students the opportunity to learn more about the postgraduate experience and understand what a career as a researcher looks like.
The six weeks of research work, as well as the developmental activities and events they must complete, allow for the students to develop their skills, build their confidence and grow personally, professionally and academically.
Meet the Class of SPUR 2025:
Interest in the SPUR Programme is growing year on year and this year saw the highest number of applications from students. The popularity of the programme is testament to the experience the students receive while participating in the SPUR Programme. Thank you to everyone who is involved in and support the students and the SPUR Programme. We look forward to sharing their research work with you later in the Autumn.
