Graduation Cheer

Over the past three days hundreds of Sociology undergraduates graduated in glorious sunshine.

Below are just some photographs of staff and students enjoying the occasion. Congratulations to everyone!

 

Prof Corcoran and Patrick Desmond

Patrick Desmond graduated in Sociology and Philosophy and will continue his studies for the priesthood with Mary Corcoran.

Beth Hayden graduated in Sociology and English. Beth previously worked as a research intern in the Department and is off to TCD to do an MSc in Social Research. Beth is pictured with Pauline Cullen and Mary Corcoran.

Aine McAdams graduated in Sociology and Celtic Studies and was presented with a President’s Certificate for her contribution to extra-curricular activities on campus. Aine will be continuing her studies at Maynooth University on the M.A. Society and Space programme. She is pictured with Pauline Cullen. 

 

Edward Sugden and Prof. Corcoran

Edward Sugden graduated in Sociology and Philosophy. Edward was the top student in Sociology (along with Raymond Payne) and also won the Justine Horgan award for best B.A. Sociology project (along with Michael Naughton). Edward will take a postgraduate degree in Philosophy, pictured with Mary Corcoran. 

 

Raymond Payne graduated in Sociology and Politics and won the top student in Sociology award (along with Edward Sugden). Raymond is going on to study for a H.Dip. in Information Technology. Raymond and his wife are pictured with Aphra Kerr, Pauline Cullen and Barry Cannon.
