A chronicle of transition year students’ account of how businesses in Ireland are dealing with the aftermath of Covid-19.

Maynooth University in association with the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland, are creating a catalogue of short videos from around the country, where transition year students will capture the reality of doing business in Ireland in 2020.

To create a conversation around the importance of local businesses who are so tightly woven into fabric of our communities, we are teaming up transition year students in selected schools from across the county in our #MUcoVideo Competition. We hope through their creative eyes to shine a light on the innovative responses of businesses to the challenges associated with Covid-19, and to highlight the role that their school community can play in promoting and supporting these businesses. Students are asked to prepare a short video, TikTok in style, on the theme:

Necessity is the mother of invention - your witness account of local business innovations during Covid-19

Schools have been asked to share these mini-productions (at their discretion) on their social media platforms using #MUcoVideo and to tag their featured business(es).

Maynooth University are delighted to be sponsoring the prize for the winner in each school and will be featuring the winning videos on the university social media platforms via the #MUcoVideo from 24th February 2021.
