Launchpad 2019

Launchpad 2019
Thursday, September 5, 2019 - 10:00 to Saturday, September 7, 2019 - 13:00
North Campus

The Launchpad Orientation Programme will welcome over 1,500 visitors to the campus on Thursday 5 September 2019.

Launchpad has been designed by the Maynooth University Access Programme (MAP) to support and ease the transition for new students coming to Maynooth University through entry routes supported by MAP; the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR), the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE), mature entry, QQI entry, Turn to Teaching or new students with a disability.

Incoming students who attend Launchpad with their families can begin to learn about university life, get to know their fellow first years, ask questions and find out advice from 125 volunteer students called MAP ambassadors about how to navigate the University before starting a new course at Maynooth. On Thursday, there will be a range of information sessions and interactive zones with a festival feel to engage the entrants and their supporters ahead of the University Welcome Week.

Launchpad for all HEAR entry students and selected DARE entry students continues in a residential capacity until Saturday 7 September 2019. All other students are invited to attend the timetabled sessions on 5 September and again on 6 September to attend an information talk, keynote address and subject information panels. If you would like to find out more, visit maynoothuniversity.ie/access-office/launchpad and if you're around campus, you're welcome to come and experience the buzz on Thursday 5 September.

Launchpad received the The President’s Team Award for Service Innovation on 30 May 2019.
