Maynooth University Launches new International Masters in Transformative Community Development
The Transformative Engagement Network (TEN-Hunger), funded by Irish Aid and the Higher Education Authority, seeks to work with vulnerable rural communities to help transform their capacity to cope with the challenges of climate change, particularly around issues of food security and nutrition.

Challenging Climate Change & Hunger in Africa
Maynooth University has launced an innovative new Masters in ‘Transformative Community Development’. The new Masters programme, established as part of the TEN-Hunger Project (Transformative Engagement Network), is funded by Irish Aid and the HEA and brings together over thirty academics across disciplines to focus on climate change and food security in vulnerable communities in Zambia and Malawi.

AN862 Ethnography Winter School 27th - 31st Jan 2014
The Department of Anthropology is please to host for the second consecutive year a one-week ‘Ethnography Winter School’; the School will be held from 27 to 31 January 2014. The School is conducted as a postgraduate module delivered in a burst-format over several days, and features the collaborative teaching of practicing ethnographers from Ireland and elsewhere. This year guest lecturers include Adam Reed (St. Andrews), Ulrike Schultz (Free University Berlin), and Virginie Vaté (Centre national de la recherche scientifique, Paris).

Maynooth University Geographers forge teaching and research connections in Southern China
Between December 3rd and 12th, Professor Mark Boyle, Professor Rob Kitchin, and Dr Mary Gilmartin from the Department of Geography and NIRSA, visited the Southern Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou (Canton) to forge new teaching and research connections.
