The MSc in Humanitarian Logistics and Emergency Management offered by the School of Business received a highly commend citation and was announced as runner up for best new Business Postgraduate programme at the recent annual Postgraduate Course of the Year Awards. The awards recognise excellence amongst Irish postgraduate course providers. The winning courses are judged on the success of the course including employability of graduates, recognition of the course’s quality or ranking by external bodies, research record of academic staff, and providing a good experience for students.  Judges also take feedback from students into consideration when selecting a winner.

Dr Graham Heaslip, programme director of the MSc programme said: “We were delighted to make the shortlist but to finish runner up has been encouraging news to all involved in the design and delivery of the programme. This recognition on top of the professional accreditation that the programme has achieved is testament to the hard work that has gone into making this programme a reality.”
The MSc in Humanitarian Logistics and Emergency Management is a unique programme and is the first in the world to combine the academic disciplines of humanitarian logistics and emergency management. The programme builds on the established strengths and reputation of Ireland and in particular Irish Aid, in delivering humanitarian assistance to those in need.
