'Performing Society through Song: The Multiple Meanings of Poetry in Brahms’s Lieder'

Biography

Natasha Loges gained her undergraduate degree in piano performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, her MMus at King’s College, London and her PhD at the Royal Academy of Music (‘Text and Context in Brahms’s Lieder’). Recent conference papers and lecture-recitals have taken her to Maynooth (2015), Toronto (2014), Rome and New York (2012), Helsinki and Glasgow (2011). She has also given a lecture-recital at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin (2013). Her research has been funded by the AHRC and the British Academy. As a song accompanist, she has performed in various venues overseas and in the UK including St John’s, Smith Square, the Holywell Music Rooms, Oxford and most recently the Bangalore School of Music, India. As a speaker, she gives regular talks for the Oxford Lieder Festival, Music Talks and BBC Radio 3. Natasha is a member of the Oxford Song Network, hosted by The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities.
