This course is an introduction to design thinking that provides learners with a Design-derived perspective on problem solving, analysis, creativity and critical thinking. It introduces skills and mindset of design thinking through class sessions and practical assignments. The course requires full-time engagement over two weeks, including five half-days of class time and time allocate to practical assignments.
Applicants should have a minimum 2.2 grade, honours (level 8) degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. However, this Certificate is open to experienced professionals who do not hold a primary degree. This course is delivered on a part-time basis by a leading expert in the field, Dr. Frank Devitt. It will be delivered over five days in January 2021: Monday – Wednesday 11-13 January, and Monday – Tuesday 18-19 January 2021. The course will be delivered in an online format, and students will have work to complete between the first and second blocks of teaching.
