Sustainable finance is an exciting and rapidly evolving area of legal and financial practice. Understanding core drivers, risks, and influences in the sustainable finance world will provide students with skills that will be relevant across a range of careers.
The objective of the "Introduction to Sustainable Finance" micro-credential is to introduce the concepts of sustainable finance from the viewpoint of asset owners and managers. This will help students understand how the current financial system is being transformed due to climate change and environmental concerns and how this shift is driving the flow of capital.
The online lectures are integrated with a set of case studies, readings, papers, video materials, and expert-led class discussion to provide an engaged understanding of relevant concepts and challenges. Students will learn from subject specialists from Maynooth Universitys School of Business and external experts. Students will also have an opportunity to engage with industry speakers.
This introductory level module will be suitable for individuals with limited to no-prior knowledge and experience to sustainable finance.
