The Higher Diploma in Further Education is a professional teaching qualification in further education. It provides student teachers with the theoretical knowledge and the practical and reflective skills required to confidently work in further education settings. The course includes a 100 hours teaching practice part time over 2 years.
You need to fulfil one of the following criteria:
an honours degree (level 8);
an ordinary degree (level 7) with relevant experience;
another professional qualification (equivalent to 180 credits at level 7) with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in vocational or instructional settings - Applicant via this route will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to successful progression through a recognition of prior learning process.
Applicants should have an interest in, and ideally experience of, adult learning in groups
Minimum English language requirements: please visit Maynooth University International Office website for information about English language tests accepted and required scores. The requirements specified are applicable for both EU and non-EU applicants.
