Incoming/New Postgraduate Students

ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025

Please be advised that on campus residences are currently fully booked and we don’t expect to have any further rooms available.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026

Booking for rooms on Campus for New Postgraduate students for Academic Year 2025-2026 (PG students in first year of their course including those coming from international locations) will take place in July and August 2025.

Applicants should ensure that they have their MU Apply number in time for their accommodation application.

Key Dates for 2025/2026

Check In	14th September 2025	1st Instalment due prior to check in
Check Out	07th June 2025

Applicants should be aware that on Campus accomodation is offered for a fixed term- 14-09-25 to 05/06/26(indicative - Licence dates are based on academic term dates).
There is no opportunity to extend this booking over the summer so students who require full year accomodation are advised to concentrate your search off campus- Student Pad will assist you.
Booking is online only. Due to the high demand for on campus accommodation we advise all intending bookers to investigate all other accommodation e.g. off Campus Alternatives.

Scéim Chonaithe - Post Graduates

In the Academic year 2025-2026 some rooms are allocated on a competitive/merit basis for Postgraduate students who have enthusiasm for speaking the Irish Language & engaging in Irish cultural activities while living on campus. This is called Scéim Chónaithe and the rooms types are single ensuite. If you are interested please email Oifig Na Gaeilge <[email protected]>.

Please note that in order to apply for accommodation applicatants should have applied via MU Apply for the first year of a post graduate course at Maynooth University.

HOW TO SECURE A ROOM ON CAMPUS

APPLICATION STAGE:

Applications for incoming new first year postgraduates for the academic year 25-26 will open 01st July 2025 (remaining open for approx. 6 weeks).
Applicants should ensure that they have their MU Apply number in time for their accommodation application.
The link will be made available on the Booking Links. At this stage of the application process there is no guarantee of a room it is simply an expression of interest.
Applicants should ensure that the student’s email address, PAC number are entered correctly on the application form as these will be used to confirm validity of the application before booking and for our short notice communications.
However only those who complete this stage can be included for a room booking invitation.
There is no charge at the application stage.
The application form will close on the 08th Aug at 5pm Irish Time.

BOOKING STAGE:

Only those applicants with an application to study a Post Graduate course at Maynooth University will be eligible to proceed to a booking invitation. General Eligibility Criteria also apply.
Eligible applicants will be notified by email and will be given a link and time window within which they are invited to book a room on a First Come First Serve Basis.
This Booking Event on the 22-08-2025 will have a strict time window and it is important that applicants watch out for the invitation email and act within the time window given.
Avoid SPAM by adding [email protected] to your contacts.

How to Complete a Room Booking Video

To book a room a €650 non refundable booking fee will apply followed quickly by the due date for the 1st instalment (equivalent of 2 month's rent). Please ensure that you have a bank card that works online and that it has been supplied with sufficient funds and that the Card Holder is available to "authorise" any payments.
While there will be sufficient rooms for all, those invited to book will find that the room types (Two room types available- Single room with ensuite bathroom and Single room with shared bathroom) will be offered on a first come first served basis. There are about twice as many Single Ensuite rooms (higher price) than Single shared bathroom Rooms (lower price) available on campus. So, if you have a strong preference you need to login early to have a choice of room type.

Those who do not book a room will have the option to remain on the applications list if they so choose. Where rooms are not booked or become vacant via cancellations, those on the applciations list will be given the oppurtunity to book.
However due to the high demand for on campus accommodation we advise all those on the application list to investigate all other accommodation or proceed with an alternative already identified.

Before booking a room in Student Residences please consider carefully your own needs, all your other options including commuting and private rented accommodation in the locality, your budget and how well the Student Residences will suit your needs. Please read the "Before Your Book" section to assist you with your decision.

Bookings made by ineligible bookers will be cancelled without reference to the booker. The booking fee will be (exceptionally) refundable in this case, however please note this may take between 6/8 weeks at peak season.
