Townscape Exhibition

On May 8th, the Townscape exhibition opened at the Irish Architectural Archive, 45 Merrion Square and will run their until the end of August 2018. Townscape is a series of portraits of homes in Stradbally, Co. Laois by visual artist Mary Burke.  The accompanying catalogue contains a framing essay by Professor Mary P. Corcoran based on interviews she carried out (along with Dr. Patricia Kettle) with the 12 householders involved in the project.  The Townscape project was curated by Muireann Ni Chonaill, Arts Office, Laois County Council. Town Talks take place on Friday, May 25 at 1:15 (Fergal MacCabe, Architect and Town Planner on The Civic Spirit of Frank Gibney)  and Friday June 8 at 1:15 (Dr. Ronan Foley, Geographer, MU on Therapeutic Landscapes, in the IAA.  All welcome.
 
The exhibition will move to Maynooth University library in November 2018.
