The XVIII International Sociological Association's World Congress of Sociology meeting was held in Yokohama, Japan July 13-19, 2014.
The meeting which attracted over 5,000 delegates from around the world focused on the theme of "Facing an Unequal World: challenges for global sociology".
Twenty-one of the registered delegates hailed from Ireland.
Professor Mary Corcoran of Maynooth University participated in the Congress.
