International Day Against Racism event

Sunday, March 27, 2016 - 21:00

To mark 'International Day Against Racism'  students from the Kilkenny Campus of Maynooth University were involved in a workshop on 'Celebrating Diversity'.

After an introduction to key concepts on racism and inclusion the students were given a role of tape, 40 balloons and a marker and asked to construct a free standing structure. The students worked in groups (from different counties) for 15 mins to construct a structure out of the balloons. Each part of the structure (balloon) represented a concept relating to interculturalism and diversity. At the end of the session the students made a 5 minute presentation on the challenges and advantages of working together.
