Congratulations to Aisling Kennedy, 2nd year Soc student on winning an award in the UG Research Symposium

    We are delighted to report that Aisling Kennedy, a second year Sociology student was an award winner in the Undergraduate Research Symposium convened as part of the University’s Research Week.  

    This winner represents an interdisciplinary project between Media Studies and Sociology. Under the mentorship of Professor Mary Corcoran, Dr Pauline Cullen and Dr Anne O’Brien, Aisling Kennedy’s poster showcased her research into developing an Irish code of practice in the Media Reporting of Gender Violence. 

    Aisling worked on the project over the Summer of 2017 as part of the SPUR programme.
