Going Green Digitally? Environmental crisis and the evolving role of the media

Wednesday, November 25, 2015 - 12:00
Resource Room, Auxilia Building

Dr. Trish Morgan, DCU, is the next speaker in the Department of Sociology, Sustaining Communities and the Crops, Plants and Bio Economy Research Cluster.

The work is broadly about the recognition that there is a pressing need for new imaginaries to tackle climate change.  It assesses the media and cultural industries for their potential to discuss new and alternate paradigms to the 'business as usual' scenarios.  It looks at TV broadcast media and current affairs during the release of the last IPCC reports to assess their role in idea-making around climate change.
