Currently we have three resarch roles available on the Mayooth University recruitment Portal, You can view more details and apply for these roles through the Maynooth University recruitment page Here

Post-doctoral Researcher (Coalesce ACA-PES Project) -  We are now seeking a postdoctoral researcher to support the implementation of WPs 1, 2, 3 and 5 of the research programme. The post is central to the research project and will be in situ on a part-time (80% FTE basis)for the entire period of the project. The post will be based between the Department of Sociology and MUSSI and the postdoctoral researcher will report to Dr Mary Murphy, Principal Investigator of the Coalesce IRC funded ACA-PES research project.
National Centre for Geocomputation Software Developer The Software Developer will contribute as part of an interdisciplinary team to the SFI-funded Building City Dashboards project, which undertakes fundamental and applied research on creating effective city dashboards. If successful, you will primarily work on building open-source web applications for the Dublin and Cork Dashboards. This will involve liaising with the data coordination, data science and user experience (UX) team members to bring new dashboard designs to realisation, contributing at all stages of the product lifecycle. In coordination with the other members of the software development team, you will help write the code to wrangle and ingest data from various external sources (both historical and real-time), and to archive this data and make it available via a suitable Application Programming Interface (API). You will implement a variety of interactive visualisations with charts and spatial maps using modern web technologies. You will be involved in testing and deploying the code to a cloud hosting service and evaluating the resulting applications from the perspectives of technical performance and usability. The project aims to produce a generalised software framework and design guide for app developers, so this is an excellent opportunity to be a primary contributor on an open-source project that will provide tools for dashboard creators worldwide. The role has scope to allow you to build a strong portfolio of projects in a short time, including on platforms such as mobile and VR/AR.The ideal candidate will be proficient with contemporary web development technologies and will appreciate how to produce a high-quality, maintainable, reusable codebase. Some training in server-side scripting and knowledge of databases is necessary. An understanding of the full app development life-cycle from ideation and prototyping through to release is required, including some experience with a user-centered design framework. Practice in the implementation of geo-mapping applications using open-source tools would be valuable. We require someone with an ability to document and communicate the design and implementation process, contribute significantly to the technical management of the project and support the dissemination of project outputs.
Post-Doctoral Researcher(PANIWATER Project) The Photolytic and Adsorption based Novel Innovations for India(PANIWATER) Project is a Water for our Environment Economy and Society (SC5-12-2018: EU-India water co-operation) Horizon 2020 funded programme. The PANI WATER consortium represents a collaboration of world-renowned universities, research centres/ organisations and SMEs. The exchange of expertise and knowledge amongst PANI WATER partners is designed to lead to a unified goal of effectively and efficiently translating innovative and affordable solar-driven point-of-use water treatment technologies to end-users in vulnerable communities in the future. This transnational collaboration will foster European cohesion and EU-India collaborations to enhance each other’s technology, science and management capabilities in water resources and provide a substantial foundation with which to achieve the PANI WATER goals. The PANI WATER Consortium has been carefully assembled to ensure varied and comprehensive expertise in all areas critical to the success of the programme scientifically, technically, commercially and from a social science perspective.
