SMC-15 Venue and Social Event Information
The main venue for SMC2015 is the Iontas Building on the North Campus at Maynooth University. Links to transport and location information is available on the Travel page. This also tells you about which buses connect to the University. The 66 and 67 service the town of Maynooth from Dublin city center.
Opening Reception
The SMC2015 opening reception will be held in the historic Pugin Hall on the South Campus. The entrance is via the President's Arch shown on the Campus Map.
The Banquet Venue - Barberstown Castle, Straffan, Co. Kiladre
The SMC2015 banquet will be held at the Barberstown Castle, built in the 13th Century, in close proximity to Dublin City Centre and Dublin Airport (both 30 minutes away). Nestled on 20 acres of surrounding gardens, Barberstown was one of the first great Historic Irish Country Houses to display its splendour to the outside world when it opened as a hotel in 1971.
Coaches will transport conference
delegates to the Banquet directly after the last session on Thursday
(30th), and will depart at 7.00pm from the main conference venue.
After the event, coashes will transport delegates back to their campus accommodation or local hotels
Concerts
The SMC2015 Concerts will be held in the Renehan Hall next to Pugin Hall on the South Campus. The entrance is via the President's Arch shown on the Campus Map.
