‘Free For Whom?’: A Multi-disciplinary Symposium on Gender, Sexuality and the Irish Free State 1922-1937

MU SexGen is delighted to announce the free, in-person symposium, '”Free for Whom?”: A Multi-Disciplinary Symposium on Gender, Sexuality and the Irish Free State 1922-1937', which will take place at Maynooth University on Friday, September 9th 2022 in Room 0.32 (Seminar Room) in the Iontas Building.
Bringing together various disciplinary perspectives, we will explore the lived reality, particularly for women and sexual minorities in the new State, and the values, policies, laws, practice, and literature relating to genders, gender identities, and sexualities. Speaker and programme details are on the attached flyer. The symposium is supported by funding from the MU Decade of Commemorations Committee.
