'Digital Intimacy and Migrant Male Sex Workers’: SexGen/University Research Week Keynote

As part of the University's Research Week, the MU SexGen network on research on gender and sexualities presents this keynote and discussion addressing digital intimacy, intersectionality, sex work, and migration.  The title of the keynote is 'From Instagram to OnlyFans: The Creation of Digital Intimacy in the Lives of Migrant Male Sex Workers.

The keynote speaker, Dr Paul Ryan, is a lecturer in sociology at Maynooth University and the author of Male Sex Work in the Digital Age Curated Lives (Palgrave 2019). His research centres on questions of sexuality, personal life and the law. Since 2009 he has been involved in a number of research projects on sex work as a researcher or in an advisory capacity (Drug Use, Sex Work and the Risk Environment 2009; Research into Prostitution in Northern Ireland 2004) and has been a member of the Cost Action – Comparing European Prostitution Policies: Understanding Scales of Governance 2015-17.
