During this online event, Nicolas Mahler will read from "Schwarze Spiegel" and talk about his work as a comic artist. The event will be held in German. Questions to the author are welcome in English. This event is supported by the Austrian Embassy in Dublin.

2021 Annual Conference: Chinese Language and Culture - New developments and challenges
The year 2022 will see the introduction of Chinese as a Leaving Certificate subject in Ireland. Against this background, the 2021 Annual Conference of MU Chinese Studies will be held online on 30 October 2021 to discuss the new developments and challenges in Chinese language teaching and learning.

Maternal counternarratives in contemporary Irish and Quebec women's writing
Dr Julie Rodgers has been awarded a D'Arcy McGee Beacon Fellowship by the Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF) in collaboration with Professor Jane McGaughey (Concordia University). As part of the fellowship, Julie will deliver a lecture on the topic of maternal counternarratives in contemporary Quebec and Irish women's writing on 26th May 2021.
