Biography

Dr Bastian Rake lectures across different modules in innovation management. Before joining the School of Business he worked as Professor at the Chair of Organisation, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (Prof. Dr. Carolin Häussler) at the University of Passau. He obtained his PhD from the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena where he was a member of the DFG Graduate College ”The Economics of Innovative Change” jointly hosted by the Max Planck Institute of Economics and Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

Bastian Rake’s research explores real world phenomena with a particular focus on collaboration, networks, and innovation in knowledge intense industries such as bio-pharmaceuticals. In his recent research, he analyses the relationship between the characteristics of different types of cooperation partners for knowledge generation and successful innovative activities. Moreover, he studies the internationalisation of science and R&D activities with a particular focus on the internationalisation of clinical trials. More detailed information on Dr Rake’s work is available here
