RTE Brainstorm has recently published a thought piece by School of Business Senior Lecturer Dr Marian Crowley-Henry and Dr Ciarán McFadden lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University entitled “How to turn up the LGBT voice in the workplace”.

In the piece, Marian and Ciarán share some aspects from their research on LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) identity and voice in the workplace. They stress that in times of inclusion and voice, the choice to not come out in the workplace or join LGBT employee networks should be respected. They conclude by emphasizing that for ALL LGBT voices to matter, the complexities and concerns for LGBT employees in publicly declaring their sexual orientation at work must be considered.
