Dr Patrick Rigot-Müller Joins the School of Business

Dr Patrick Rigot-Müller joins the School of Business.
 
Patrick earned his PhD from the Ecole des Mines de Paris, France, focusing on the impact of Nissan’s lean manufacturing on the practices of Renault. He holds an MSc in Management from the Universite of Paris-Dauphine and a Masters in Engineering (telecommunications) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
 
Before joining School of Business, Patrick was a faculty member at Ecole de Management de Normandie, a AACSB and Equis accredited business school in France, where he taught Supply Chain and Logistics modules. Prior to this, Patrick worked as a Research Fellow at both the University of Newcastle and the University of Hull (UK). Before entering academia, Patrick was a Senior Consultant at Newton Vaureal Consulting, specialising in Supply Chain and Operations, and an R&D Engineer in Production Systems at Renault.
 
Patrick’s research focuses broadly on the areas of Maritime Transport, Sustainable Supply Chains, and Global Logistics. His research has cast light upon the relationship between choices of technology, ports, and routes in maritime supply chains upon carbon emissions. His recent work has involved exploring the role of ports in supply chains as well as the optimisation of complex shipping logistics that have multiple constraints. Patrick’s research has been published in leading international journals including Technological Forecasting and Social Change: An International Journal, the Journal of Energy Policy, and the International Journal of Logistics Management. Patrick regularly presents his research at international conferences such as the International Symposium on Logistics, the LCS International Conference, and the Logistics Research Network amongst others.
