Dr Jean Cushen to Deliver TASC Lunchtime Seminar

Thursday, March 30, 2017 - 15:15

Dr Jean Cushen has been invited by TASC to give a lunchtime seminar next month on ‘Organising and Resisting Work in the Financialized Workplace’.

This seminar explores how financialization has fundamentally altered the organisation and experience of work.  It challenges notions of ‘the end of resistance’ by offering a typology of fluctuating ‘engaged-resistant’ employee behaviours.  It will conclude by considering the potential for ‘organic solidarity’ to stimulate action on social change.

The seminar will take place on 27 April in TASC's offices in Castleriver House, 14-15 Parliament Street, Dublin 2. (Entrance on Essex Street East).

Jean is a lecturer at the School of Business; her research explores the contemporary employment experience and focuses on financialization, the labour process, and human resource management.

Further information about this seminar can be found on TASC’s website.
