School of Business Lecturer, Michael Hayden, provides the accounting practitioner with some food for thought in a recent article published in Accountancy Ireland. While, the economic importance of the Irish Agricultural Industry is well documented, COVID-19 has focused attention on its social importance. This article provides an opportunity for the accounting profession to reflect on how it can best assist and support farming businesses. While acknowledging that challenges exist for accountants in delivering services to farm clients, there are significant opportunities for accountants and farmers to work effectively together to develop sustainable farm enterprises.  Full Research Article.
