Inspireurope Webinars

The Inspireurope project includes a series of webinars for researchers at risk and prospective employers and host institutions in the academic and non-academic sectors across Europe. Researchers at risk include researchers who are at risk in their countries of origin (due to discrimination, persecution, suffering and/or violence) or are seeking refuge out of these reasons or have recently found refuge in Europe. Registration is free of charge and open to all at the below links.

Topic: Welcoming researchers at risk: considerations for new employers and host organisations in Europe
Date: 30 January, 2020

Description: This webinar was for representatives of higher education institutions and other organisations in Europe interested in welcoming researchers at risk to the work place. The content is of relevance for a wide range of academic, administrative and research staff interested in employing researchers, or inviting visiting researchers to their organisation, including international office staff, human resource professionals, heads of department, research administration offices, and/or organisational leaders. 

Topics covered included:

  • Introduction to the Inspireurope project and opportunities to get involved
  • Overview of the various arrangements that can be put in place between the researcher and organisation (i.e. employment, visiting research positions, fellowships, internships)
  • Guidance on how to welcome a researcher to the organisation and how to support them to make the most out of their stay
  • Testimonial from a researcher on their experience and advice for organisations
  • Opportunities to raise questions with the expert panel and share ideas for future webinar topics

Topic: How to apply for an EU-funded research fellowship

Description: This webinar provided an overview of EU-funded research fellowships for individual researchers to pursue their work in Europe, as well as information on how to apply. The webinar was the first in a new series organised by the Inspireurope project, an EU-funded initiative to support, promote and integrate researchers at risk in Europe.
