Collaborative research article from the groups of Dr Rowan Young (NUS) and Dr Tobias Krämer (Maynooth University) just published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition

Base metal catalysts carrying PCP pincer ligands, where the central carbon is an sp2-hybridised carbene carbon atom, have found increasing attention in recent years due to their ability to perform difficult bond transformations. These ligand platforms enable these complexes to partake in metal-ligand cooperativity, which often endows them with reactivities comparable to their noble metal counterparts.

Funding: Society for the Humanities at Cornell University Repair Project 2022-23

The Society for the Humanities at Cornell University invites applications for residential fellowships from scholars whose research projects reflect on the 2022-23 theme of Repair. Up to six Fellows will be appointed. The fellowships are held for one academic year. Each Society Fellow will receive $56,000.

LAUNCH OF THE SMILE PROJECT WEBSITE

Maynooth University is one of six European universities from Germany, Ireland, Italy, Finland, Malta and Romania, as well as four civil society organisations from Belgium and Spain who will collaborate within the SMILE project, coordinated by eucen.The project focuses on three main areas of inequality and disadvantage in higher education: migrant background, women leadership, and low socio-economic status.

JC: A Bad Day for Democracy?' at the Bar of Ireland 2021 Chair's Conference on the theme of 'Promoting Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Ireland'. Other speakers included: the Hon. Mr. Justice Donal O'Donnell, Judge of the Supreme Court; Paul Gallagher SC, Attorney General of Ireland and Michael P. O'Higgins SC, Former Chair of the Bar Council of Ireland 2018-2020.
