New criminal justice research partnership for Ireland launches in Maynooth

The participants were all members of the CORD Partnership from a range of different professional backgrounds. They included academic and independent researchers, criminal justice policymakers, agencies and oversight bodies, non-state justice services, civil society and advocacy groups, and research infrastructure.

Sport Ireland Research Funding Scheme Award for Dr Liam Sweeney

Dr Liam Sweeney, alongside Dr Áine MacNamara from Dublin City University and Niall O’Regan from the Football Association of Ireland, have been awarded funding under the Sport Ireland Research Funding Scheme Allocation to pursue a research project titled, ‘What role does biological maturation play in the development experiences of female players on the FAI’s national and international pathway?’. The grant will see a total funding award of €13,514 for several research projects spanning between 2024-2025

Professor Aisling McMahon awarded an IRC New Foundations Grant in conjunction with civil society partner Breakthrough Cancer Research to examine the Hospital Exemption Pathway and personalised cancer therapies

The project team will examine the scope of the hospital exemption scheme in Europe, its operation in the national Irish context, and the extent to which it could be used in Ireland to deliver access to advanced cancer therapies in cases of unmet need.
