ALL Institute welcomes Kimberly Wright, LLM Student as Semester 2 Intern student

The ALL Institute is delighted to be hosting LLM student Kimberly Wright for the Semester as part of her postgraduate studies in Global Legal Studies. During the placement, Kimberly will be taking part in a variety of tasks ranging from research on the European Ombudsman’s decision on disability rights, conducting literature reviews and undertaking various administration and communication duties. She will also be helping with the ALL Institute blog.

EUROPE FOR CITIZENS

Maynooth University colleagues, Dr Derek Barter (Dept. of Adult and Community Education and ALL member) and Jennifer Lloyd Hughes (Civic Engagement Coordinator with MU’s Experiential Learning Office), have just secured EU funding as part of an international consortium for Foundations for Futures Europe. The aim is to develop a network of Higher Education and Civil Society partners to engage citizens in debates and discussion groups around the future direction of the European project. The FFE network consists of Maynooth University; the university of Novi Sad, Serbia; Pecs University, Hungary; The European Anti-Poverty Network, Ireland; The Hellenic Anti-Poverty Network, Greece and URKRAFT, Sweden.

European Union Flag

Europe for Citizens Partnership

An international consortium led by Maynooth University colleagues from The Experiential Learning Office and the Department of Adult and Community Education has recently received funding under the Europe for Citizens Programme. The Foundations for Future Europe project will engage citizens from the 5 partner countries in discussions about the future of the European Project, leading to the development of an educational resource park and an open-access journal focused on citizen engagement with European social policy and economic, social, cultural (ESC) rights.
