The brief piece on George (or ‘Jorge’) Ryan will provide readers with an idea of the factors that drew Irish people to Latin America during this period. A second article on Richard’s current IRC research focusing on the Irish in Tenerife will be published by Brainstorm in January.

Dr. Yağmur Hortoğlu Grant organised and moderated a panel on the intersection between arbitration and criminal law during the Dublin International Arbitration Day.

The panel was composed of leading arbitration law practitioners such as Patricia Nacimiento (Herbert Freehills Smith, Frankfurt), Ahmed Abdel-Hakam (Volterra Fietta, London) and Utku Coşar (Arbitration Chambers, Istanbul & New York) and discussed the issues of money laundering in arbitration law, sham arbitrations, and fraudulent evidence in international arbitration.
