Do organizational leaders’ tweets influence their employees’ anxiety?

Dr. Jon Gruda and Dr. Adegboyega Ojo, together with Prof. Alexandros Psychogios (Birmingham City University) co-authored a paper that was presented at the Academy of Management Annual Conference 2021. Based on emotional contagion and using developed algorithms to detect anxiety and personality traits in tweets, the authors found that leaders influence their followers’ state anxiety over a period of 316 days, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Further details.
