I came to Maynooth in 2020, having previously taught at Swansea University, Royal Holloway University of London and Ludwig Maximilian University Munich. I studied for a German state examination in Latin, Greek and German Literature in Freiburg and for a M.Phil. in Classics in Cambridge before pursuing a doctorate in Latin and Greek at LMU Munich.
My research focuses primarily on ancient epistolography. My PhD thesis, a commentary on Seneca the Younger's Epistulae Morales Book 2 with new edition and translation, will be published by Oxford University Press in 2021. I am currently working on a book about addressees in ancient letter collections and preparing together with Dr Claire Rachel Jackson a volume called Fictionality in Ancient Epistolography.
