David Mangan speaks at international labour law conference

Dr. David Mangan spoke at the 18^th International Conference in Commemoration of Professor Marco Biagi. David discussed the intensification of work amongst professional workers, particularly academics, attributable to liberal interpretations of employment contracts, increasing reliance upon the perceived objectivity of metrics, and advances in information technology. This talk was part of a panel entitled Innovation, Autonomy, and (Psuedo) Managerial Legitimations: The Equivocal Paths of Operational Autonomy in EU Academia. This panel is part of a longer term project David is undertaking with colleagues from the University of Łódź (Poland), Professor Marta Otto and Professor Izabela Florczak.
